In the poll of March 23rd you voted for 'Develop yourself' as the most interesting thing to do now.

And here you go: my recommendations of 2 books, 3(ish) podcasts and 2 videos. I absolutely adore these.

Book: Play Like An Alley - Stephen Davidson
This little booklet gives so much insight on how to be a better, more inclusive improv teacher. I love that it includes a bunch of exercises (and fun doodles).

Book: The Artist's Way - Julia Cameron
A great read on how to nurture your creative side. It is an absolute classic for a reason (many translations available). It also leads you to creating artist's habits, that are perfect to start building now.

Podcast: The Moth
An absolute goldmine of a podcast full of true stories told in front of a live audience. Heartfelt, raw, funny, and inspiring storytelling (for those who like working with true stories)

Podcast: My Dad Wrote A PornoThis is incredibly funny and I am not sure it taught me anything, but if it did it is about badly written dialogues. Worth it though. (Start at the beginning)

Podcast: Serial; S-Town; Dirty John (and for Dutch speakers: Bob; Brand in het Landhuis)
I am absolutely in love with all these podcasts where 1 story is told. For me, it is more engaging than a good movie. See the description in any podcast app to pick one.

Blog: Chris Mead
My friend Chris has written a few articles on his blog that are very on point about bad shows, jealousy and being kind. Also: who doesn't love a well written British blog?!

Blog: Gael Doorneweerd-Perry
As much as I sound (and am) biased as his partner, I still want to recommend Gael's articles on gender dynamics and under-appreciated improv skills.

Video: Hannah Gadsby's TED-talk
Her talk 'Three ideas. Three contradictions. Or not.' has a powerful message and as a talk so well-crafted. What a woman.

Video: How Star Wars Was Saved In The Edit
If you like to nerd about storytelling and edits/transitions in scenes, this video is amazingly insightful.
